aFe Goes to SEMA

We’re unpacking our bags, rolling out our trailers, and taking a deep breath. We made it through SEMA 2022. With the challenges of the last few years, we could finally return to full swing for the first time since 2019. That being said, this past week was our chance to make up for the lost time. We want to catch everyone up because aFe has grown dramatically since then. In the past three years, we’ve expanded our product line to include cabin air filters, wheel spacers, leveling kits, and fuel tanks. To augment our manufacturing and distribution capabilities, we’ve also acquired a new building to expand our square footage. Our way of putting the best foot forward was to exhibit the breadth of our product line and high-lighting the performance-boosting parts for our best-selling vehicle applications.

What’s SEMA?

SEMA, or Specialty Equipment Market Association, is nestled in the Las Vegas Convention Center adjacent to the Westgate Resort and Casino. The Convention Center unveiled the West Wing last year, providing ample space for Powersports and Utility Vehicles, Restyling and Car Care, Trucks, SUVs, and Off-Road – including the incredible SEMA Overlanding Experience. The industry must adapt to the changing times, so among the Battle of the Builders and Mobile Electronics in the North Hall was a place carved out for the newest EV technology, “SEMA Electrified,” be it batteries, cosmetic and aerodynamic adjustments, and even vehicle lifts.

aFe was stationed at Booth #22553 in the Central Hall, home to the Hot Rod Alley, Restoration Marketplace, and all things Racing and Performance (that’s us). This year, we secured this fantastic new location within the Central Hall, which put us closer to the forefront of the action, a stone’s throw away from industry titans such as Holley, Edlebrock, Brembo, and Toyota. The number of attendees does not seem to have surpassed pre-COVID-19 numbers, but it was a close call. Attendees were industry members and enthusiasts that came far and wide from across America and the world.

Featuring the 2021 Corvette C8

We featured two of today’s hottest vehicles: The 2021 Chevrolet Corvette C8 and the 2022 Toyota Tundra.

Depending on how you look at it, Corvette C8’s Ceramic Gray exterior shifts in the light to a soft baby blue or space moon grey. Either way, it’s complemented by sleek Carbon Fiber Components from Anderson Composites and 19″ Forgeline Wheels. This vehicle is race-ready and equipped with a track-focused package: AP Racing Competition Big Brake System, 6 Piston F&R Calipers, Paragon Performance Harness Bar, and Sparco Seatbelt Harness

The true power of this American Muscle classic rests in the 6.2L LT2 V8 engine. That’s why we equipped this showstopping C8 with aFe’s finest performance-boosting parts: Track Series Carbon Fiber Cold Air Intake, Twisted Steel Headers, and muffler-delete MACH Force Cat-Back Exhaust. As for suspension, the chassis is readied with aFe Control 3-way adjustable Sway Bar Set to improve handling and prototype aFe Control Tow Hooks to provide secure recovery points.

Featuring the 2022 Toyota Tundra

Our 2022 Toyota Tundra Limited Crew Max/Long Bed 4×4 breezed through the 4-hour drive from Corona to Las Vegas. Upon arrival, this truck was in good company– many booths, especially in the West Wing Overlanding section, showcased the new Tundra. Our Tundra was ready for SEMA as much as it was for a rugged off-roading adventure, featuring an overlanding setup and some of aFe’s latest aftermarket performance parts.

A self-sufficient setup in the great outdoors would be a cinch, especially with the DECKED drawer system, RotoPax water and fuel mounts, and Leitner Design Active Cargo System, Gearpods, and Shower Kits. Tackle any terrain in style with lighting mounts from Rigid Light Shop and aggressive bumpers from Fab Fours. All that was left was to pitch our tent and awning, supplied by Freespirit Recreation, but a nearby hotel made do instead. The massive Fuel Off-Road 18″ wheels and 33” Open Country tires by the show’s sponsor, Toyo Tires, could have taken us anywhere.

aFe’s performance-boosting product lineup rounds off this impressive build: Momentum GT Cold Air Intake, Vulcan Series Cat-back Exhaust, Bladerunner 2.5″ Hot Charge Pipe, and prototype Scorcher GT Power Module. To get you further away from it all on your overlanding adventure, this Tundra is equipped with prototype Sway-A-Way 2.5” Front Coilovers and Rear Shocks that provide 2.5” of lift in the front and 1.63” in the rear (when combined with our Leveling Kit). And just in case you get a little too far off the beaten path, your buddies can rescue you by attaching to our Front Tow Hooks to pull you out of a jam.
