Pickup trucks have always been and will always be a big part of the aFe POWER story. The very first intake system we released was for a Ford Ranger in the 90’s and we really made our mark in the industry with our performance upgrades for diesel trucks.

We’ve seen all manner of trucks throughout the years and many that have been a part of the aFe fleet have served us well – providing a platform for R&D on new products, becoming show vehicles, hauling people, gear, cars & other toys to company outings like camping trips and track days. They have been a catalyst for many of the things we get to enjoy about driving and modifying cars and trucks.

While the mid-size truck market has evolved greatly over the years, one has remained the crowd favorite for decades – the Toyota Tacoma. And it is no wonder that it has managed to hold this title. It shares its lineage with the Toyota Hilux, renown for its toughness and reliability and carrying a reputation of being ‘hard to kill’ (pretty badass reputation if you ask me).

Combine that with its affordability, range of options, and objectively good looks and you have yourself a winner. As the Tacoma has adapted to many lifestyles from being work trucks to daily drivers to hardcore off-roaders, it is no wonder they have sold as well as they have.

When we got the announcement that the 6th generation Tacoma was announced, we called up the local dealership, got our name on the list, and waited. The day finally came that we could add the latest Tacoma to the aFe garage – a 2024 Tacoma TRD Off-Road finished in Toyota’s stunning Bronze Oxide color. The redesign is aggressive and looks great, it’s filled with tech, has an all-new powerplant for us to develop on, and lives up to everything that we love about the Toyota Tacoma.
